About Us

Founded in 1980 in Surat, the textile capital of India, General Group has grown from a single vision textile unit into a diversified industrial powerhouse. With over four decades of excellence behind us, we now operate at the intersection of tradition and innovation across Textiles, Real Estate, Food, and Packaging Films.

Driven by a strong leadership team and an unwavering commitment to quality, we’re not just expanding we’re redefining how industries grow responsibly.

Our Sustainability

A Greener Future, Woven and Engineered by Us
At General Group, sustainability isn’t a department — it’s a decision at every level. Whether it’s weaving 10 million meters of recycled textile
a month or producing 54,000 MT of high-grade BoPET films with zero waste, we are building India’s most future-ready manufacturing group.
We’re on a path to become India’s first carbon-neutral textile and packaging conglomerate, powered by
solar and wind, backed by global certifications, and guided by a deep responsibility to people and planet.

Stay tuned — our detailed Sustainability Report will be released soon.

Environmental Impact

Powered by 100% Solar & Wind Energy
Across both our textile and packaging divisions, we operate on renewable energy (32.2 MW capacity), saving thousands of tonnes of CO₂ annually. Our textile plants recycle 100% of water through in-house ETPs, and our polyfilms division reuses all process waste, achieving near-zero discharge.

Circular Economy

Recycling at the Core of Our Manufacturing
From post- and pre-consumer recycled polyester yarns to 100% recycling of film scrap in BoPET production, our business is built on the circular economy. Our certifications — GRS, GOTS, FSC, OEKO-TEX, BCI — reinforce our closed-loop commitment.

Community Engagement

Financial Literacy & Employment Empowerment
Through our “Easing Finance” initiative, we’ve educated 1,000+ rural students and workers’ children in personal finance and investing. As one of Surat’s largest employers, we also focus on upskilling labor and empowering next-gen leaders from within.
